Visa Mỹ hay còn gọi là thị thực là giấy phép nhập cảnh cho người nước ngoài muốn vào Hoa Kỳ. Công dân nước ngoài bắt buộc phải xin visa Mỹ nếu muốn nhập cảnh vào đất nước này với bất kỳ mục đích gì. Visa Mỹ được chia làm 2 loại chính: Visa định cư và Visa không định cư.
Visa định cư Mỹ bao gồm:
- Visa bảo lãnh kết hôn và chung sống với người có quốc tịch Hoa Kỳ
- Visa định cư diện đoàn tụ gia đình tại Hoa Kỳ
- Visa định cư diện đối tác đầu tư, kinh doanh (trong đó có visa EB3)
Đây là loại visa giúp bạn có thể làm việc, học tập vô thời hạn và không có bất kỳ hạn chế nào tại Mỹ. Nếu đáp ứng các tiêu chí nhập cư và nhập tịch của chính phủ, những người nhập cư này sẽ được cấp Thẻ Xanh và trở thành thường trú nhân của Hoa Kỳ.
Visa không định cư bao gồm:
- Visa du lịch Mỹ
- Visa công tác Mỹ
- Visa thăm thân nhân Mỹ
- Visa du học Mỹ
- Visa chữa bệnh tại Mỹ.
Các loại visa Mỹ không định cư cho phép bạn nhập cảnh vào Mỹ và lưu trú trong thời gian cho phép. Khi hết thời hạn thì bạn phải rời khỏi quốc gia này. Khi muốn tiếp tục được ở lại nước Mỹ bạn cần xin gia hạn visa với một lý do hợp lý.

1. Surname và Given Name: Họ và tên đệm.
2. Issuing Post Name: Nơi cấp thị thực.
3. Gender: Giới tính (kí hiệu F là nữ, kí hiệu nam là M)
4. IV case number: Số hồ sơ thị thực định cư
5. Registration Number: Số Sở di trú cung cấp để quản lý thông tin của những người nộp đơn xin nhập cư.
6. IV Category: Loại hoặc diện. Ký hiệu loại visa, ví dụ EW3, B1/B2,….
7. Marital Status: Tình trạng hôn nhân
8. Số visa Mỹ: Dãy số duy nhất màu đỏ. Thường bao gồm 8 ký tự, bắt đầu từ chữ cái và bảy chữ số tiếp theo.
9. IV Expires On: Thời gian từ ngày cấp đến ngày hết hạn được gọi là thời gian hiệu lực của visa. Trong thời gian này, bạn có thể nhập cảnh Mỹ.
10. IV Issue Date: Ngày phát hành. Ngày cơ quan ngoại giao Hoa Kỳ cấp thị thực.
11. Birthplace: Nơi sinh
12. Annotation: Chú thích. Phần này sẽ ghi các thông tin bổ sung về visa nếu có.
13. Passport number: Số hộ chiếu trùng khớp với hộ chiếu.
14. Birth Date: Ngày sinh.
